This Thursday Ulan-Ude hosted a ceremony where voluntary firefighter units were presented with specialized equipment - auto-pouring stations designed after ZIL-131. The event was attended by Pyotr Mordovskoy, the Security Deputy Chairman of the Republic’s Government.

The republic’s government allocated 3, 2 million rubles for the cars retrofits. Now those cars are being send to the villages of Zaigraevsky, Mukhorshibirsky, Kyakhta and Selenga regions.

"Voluntary fire patrolling and the state fire services boost their activity in Buryatia. The head of the Republic, the government and the People's Hural are taking all possible measures in order to secure localities and its residents", says Pyotr Mordovskoy.

«We currently have all-terrain vehicles at the disposal of our voluntary firefighter units. Those vehicles are meant to extinguish domestic and forest fires and will help volunteer units to protect their villages until the professional firefighters arrive», says the deputy chairman.

Currently, there are 355 volunteer firefighter units stationed in Buryatia.
